The New Rochelle Council on the Arts presents its Annual Juried Art Show, on exhibit at the Rotunda Gallery from July 11th through August 31st. NRCA, which manages the Rotunda Gallery, will host an artists’ reception for the exhibit on Tuesday, July 17th from 6 to 8 pm. The Rotunda Gallery is located on the first floor of New Rochelle’s City Hall at 515 North Avenue. Gallery hours are weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm. For additional information visit www.newrochellearts.org.
The show, which was open to all artists, working in any media, within the County of Westchester, includes works by Anne Therese Dillen, OSU; Barbara Hyde Haber; Nancy Nikkal; Aaron Stone; David Humphrey; Shoshanna Rothaizer; Lannie Hart; Debra Friedkin; Linda Kourkoulis; Rebecca Singer; Carol Gromer; Marcello Pittari; Elizabeth Pollaert; Luis Pagan; Carol Curtis; Sue Altman; Ruth Obernbreit; Julia Swyers; Daniel Feldman; Leenda Bonilla.
The entries were judged by a jury of professionals that included Kenise Barnes, owner of Kenise Barnes Fine Art Consulting, LLC in Larchmont, NY, as well as a curator and consultant; Donald Keene, an artist as well as an art teacher at Mamaroneck High School; and Patricia St. John, an artist and art educator at The College of New Rochelle. “We were so pleased to have such a distinguished panel of judges,” says Judith Weber, President of NRCA, “and to be able to exhibit such a wide range of works. There’s something really exciting about engaging the people who visit City Hall with works of fine art, and we hope people will come to consider the Rotunda as one of their favorite arts venues.”
NRCA was created by the New Rochelle City Council in 1975 to stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts and the public’s interest and participation therein. NRCA has worked to fulfill that mission by sponsoring art exhibitions, theatrical productions, dance recitals, film screenings, lectures, and concert series as well as city-wide events like ArtsFest and the Sound Shore Shakespeare Festival. This season NRCA programs are made possible, in part, by ArtsWestchester with funds from Westchester County Government, the City of New Rochelle, and the support and participation of NRCA’s membership. For more information on how to become a member visit NRCA on the web at www.newrochellearts.org.
