Hospice of Westchester Hosts ‘In Celebration 2017’ @ Westchester Country Club

WHAT: Hospice of Westchester (HOW) will host its annual “In Celebration” Gala Cocktail Reception on Thursday, September 28. The special guest speaker for the evening will be Emmy Award-winning News Anchor and Correspondent Stone Phillips. In honor of HOW’s 25th anniversary celebration this year, the event will honor the organization’s patients and their families, as well as its exceptional and compassionate Staff and Volunteers. “In Celebration” will also celebrate the life of Anna L. Shereff.

The evening will feature culinary delights, open bar and entertainment. The dress code is business attire and valet parking is available.

Zorá Quartet @ Kusel Auditorium at Sleepy Hollow High School

WHAT: As part of its 2017-2018 concert series, Friends of Music will host the Zorá Quartet on Saturday, October 21st. The group of artists were winners of the 2015 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York City. The New York Times has praised the group’s “depth and maturity” as well as their “affecting impetuosity.”

The performance will feature the following pieces of music:

  • Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 13
  • Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 15 in A minor, Op.

Individual tickets ($35) along with series subscriptions ($140) are available for purchase on or at the door.  Children 18 and younger enter free!

Human Trafficking: A Decade of Westchester Stories @ Brae Burn Country Club

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, My Sisters’ Place, will hold its Annual Fall Luncheon Fundraiser at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, New York. This year’s theme is Human Trafficking: A Decade of Westchester Stories. The afternoon will include a dynamic conversation about this issue, it’s presence in Westchester County, and  MSP’s work as the designated human trafficking services provider for our area. The event will also include a silent auction, red wagon appeal, and more!
