The Ox Ridge Hunt Club (ORHC) is pleased to announce that Callari Auto Group: BMW, MINI, VOLVO (Westport) and FIAT (Stamford) has been named the premiere sponsor for the upcoming 2013 Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show, scheduled for June 11 through 16.
A United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Hunter “A” rated major riding competition, the Charity Horse show features four-star jumpers and breathtaking show jumping exhibitions. This year’s program will benefit Pegasus Therapeutic Riding, and also kicks off the 100-year anniversary the OHRC in 2014. Embracing Fairfield County’s unique equestrian heritage, the 2013 Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show is an even not to be missed.
“The Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show is a foundation of Darien life, letting families and children enjoy our area’s equestrian tradition,” said Alan Griffin, OHRC’s general manager and head trainer. “That this tradition can be used to benefit disabled individuals of all ages only further underlines the importance of Pegasus Therapeutic Riding, this year’s beneficiary, as well as the Ox Ridge Hunt Club as well.”
Callari is joined by an impressive roster of local business sponsors, including Garavel Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Norwalk, Moffly Media, the Carrington Charitable Foundation, Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Norwalk, Palmer’s Catering, Stronghold Equine Equipment, Whole Foods of Darien, Southern Tent, Seedlings Foundation, Aden Brook/AgriSales, Whipstick Farm, Tracy Stables, Grand Prix Equine-Dr.Baus, Atlantic Construction, Lucky Lawn LLC, O’Neill’s Pub, Der Dau Boots, FW-PHA, Susan’s Canine Training, Darien Electric, Meticulous Landscaping & Design, Jimmy’s Southside Pub, Glen Liquors, and Sandy Hook Forge.
“The Darien community has supported our business for over thirty years, and sponsoring the Charity Horse show is our way of saying, ‘Thank you,’ and giving something back,” said Pam Love, owner of Glen Liquors and Fine Wine, a family-owned and operated Darien-based liquor store founded in 1979. The Love family also owns Jimmy’s Southside Tavern in Darien.
The proceeds from this year’s program will be donated to Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded at Ox Ridge Hunt Club in 1975, Pegasus provides equine-assisted activities to 225 students a year at four regional chapters, including its main equestrian facility, Pegasus Farm, in Brewster, N.Y. Students ages four and up participate in both therapeutic horseback riding and unmounted programs that offer a wide range of physical, social, cognitive and emotional benefits.
