Scott Vaccaro (aka – “The Captain”) Owner and Head Brewer of the Captain Lawrence Brewery will be coming to Growlers Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe on Thursday, July 12th from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. Scott began brewing beer at the ripe old age of 17 and hasn’t looked back since. A graduate of UC Davis Fermentation Science program, Scott has been fortunate to mix the practical knowledge gained from years of home brewing with 4 years of brewing education all with the goal of opening a brewery and creating beers for people to enjoy. Since then, Scott has created an award-winning portfolio of world class beers and earned the respect of the greatest brewers in the world, placing Captain Lawrence firmly in the elite ranks of great US craft breweries.

The brewery recently moved from Pleasantville to Elmsford to a much larger facility where, in addition to new state-of-the-art brewing equipment, they also installed a unique “Pilot” brewing system for small batches, experimentation and just plain fun – they are brewers after all. Last month Scott and the Growlers boys brewed up a batch of Oatmeal Stout specifically for this event using Ryan Kipp’s special recipe. In addition to this one-of-a-kind offering, Growlers will be pouring the following Captain Lawrence beers:
• St. Vincent’s Dubbel
• Xtra Gold
• Captain’s Kolsch
• Liquid Gold
• Reserve Imperial IPA
• Golden Delicious
These complex and delicious malted grain and hop-infused beverages are thoughtfully paired with a selective menu of local, seasonal small cuisine.
