WHAT: As part of its 2017-2018 concert series, Friends of Music will host Charlie Albright on Saturday, May 12th. One of the first Friends of Music Performance Awardees, Charlie Albright returns for his second appearance in the concert series. The Washington Post says, “Albright is among the most gifted musicians of his generation.”
The performance will feature the following pieces of music:
- Two impromptus from Franz Schubert’s Opus 90 (No. 3 in G-flat Major and No. 2 in E-flat Major)
- Concert Arabesques by Schulz-Evler on themes from Strauss’s On the Beautiful Blue Danube; Variations, Op. 41 by Nikolai Kapustin
- Selected Etudes from Frederic Chopin’s Opus 25.
