The treatment of breast cancer with chemotherapy, targeted therapies, hormonal therapy and radiation therapy aims to eradicate cancer cells. This may also cause varied side effects which can be long-lasting and impact each person differently. This program will address the questions: What are the common side effects resulting from cancer treatment? How can the symptoms of side effects be managed to maintain quality of life during treatment and beyond?

SPEAKER: Nancy Hacker, RN, BSN, OCN, a certified oncology nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering at Sleepy Hollow. Her areas of focus include the education of patients undergoing treatment for breast and gynecological cancers. Her strengths include direct symptom management in relation to side effects from chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and radiation therapy.
