On Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 12 noon to 6 pm, The Wartburg Adult Care Community in Mount Vernon, NY will be hosting a rock/pop concert of youth performers and an exhibit of young visual artists’ works. Youth Arts Forum (YAF) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1990 by Barry Salottolo based on the mission of ‘kids helping kids’. Youth Arts Forum collects and displays the artwork of young artists from around the country and around the world, and provides showcases for musical talents of young people from all genres at various venues throughout the year. YAF “kids helping kids” concerts donate a minimum of 10% of any proceeds to local and international organizations that help children in the areas of hunger, disease control and education. The Wartburg Conference Center is pleased to be a venue for a summer concert that will feature performers such as Whitney Kelly, Union, The Vibes, M.O.T.P., Black Box and Maxed Out.
Donations will be welcomed at the door to support programs to prevent childhood hunger and homelessness. A donation of $5 is suggested at the door. Food and drink will be available for purchase. The concert will take place rain or shine. For more information, call (914) 730-9269 or visit http://thewartburgyafconcert.eventbrite.com .
