Some Quick Tips for Mom…from These 2 Hands!

Mother’s day is upon us and when I think of Mother’s Day, I think to myself  “Every mother should do nothing!”  To me, that  would make for the perfect Mother’s day – and I’m sure for plenty others as well!  Perhaps an extra hour (or 2) in bed wouldn’t hurt….or waking up to bedside flowers from your garden! Even better, breakfast in bed just as long as it not messy!!  Any meal that I’m not making is a good one- and that’s not because I can’t cook…its more because its one less thing for me to do! Often we (moms) wear many hats: the teacher hat, the chef hat and the maids’ hat and on top that- the mom hat, wife hat, daughter hat, sister hat, friend hat and if you’re a working-outside-the-home mom, just add that to the list!!!!  So basically, most moms have a very full plates (I know I do!)  Below you will find some sweet ideas for the kids to do for mom on Mother’s Day  (WARNING- some of these tips require Dad to be involved!) I’m sure mom would appreciate!
Food ideas-

Fruit and Donut Hole Skewers

Does mom like pizza? If so try making pizza crescent rolls! All you need are crescent rolls, sliced pepperoni, mozzarella string cheese, & pasta sauce! This requires the oven so Dad will need to be hands on!
First you want to preheat oven to 375.  Unroll the crescent rolls then separate into 8 triangles.  Place a few slices of pepperoni on each roll.  Put a half a string cheese piece and roll it up.  Place rolls on buttered baking sheet then following cooking directions on packaging.  Serve with a side of warm pizza sauce.

Here’s another quick recipe for crescent rolls-
Surprise Filled Crescent Rolls- Think about what mom likes and then fill the crescent roll with it!  Does she like peanut butter & chocolate, or nutella, or butter & cinnamon sugar….Anything you use, I’m sure she’ll appreciate!

Peanut Butter and…whatever you have…Crescent Rolls!

Here’s a gift idea that doesn’t have to break the bank-
Flowers in Painted bottles-  Take the apple sauce jar or the wine bottle out of the recycling bin! Of course you want to wash then dry it.  Take some enamel paint, pour it into the glass, swirl around covering the entire bottle in paint, then pour out excess. Repeat process in an hour, then dry bottle upside down on new paper for 2 days.  For the first hour be sure to wipe any excess paint from the rim with a wet towel. Once the paint is fully dry, cut some flowers from your garden and there you have a wonderful, heartfelt, handmade Mother’s day gift!
