Well, it’s that time of year to find the little bit o’ Irish in all of us! Now we know it can be tough, finding the proper venue to bring out your Celtic pride. So we’ve gone and put together a list of events all over Westchester County that’ll keep those Irish Eyes a-smilin.’ And don’t forget about our PUB CONTEST…so vote for your favorite location too!
Eat & Drink:
Molly Spillane’s, Mamaroneck: Starting at 4pm on the 17th, there will be an Irish DJ playing all the traditional Irish favorites, and some contemporary Irish music. Corned beef and cabbage will be available all day, along with regular pub menu items. On Monday, the 18th, there will be live music with ERIN OG, from 4-8pm, after the Mamaroneck St. Patrick’s Day Parade, so come get your Irish on!
Maggie Spillane’s: Mount Vernon: Live music with the Hairless Monk starting at 3pm. DJ entertainment from 7pm til close. A $15 Buffet with all of your Irish favorites, along with Prizes & giveaways! St. Patrick’s Day fun in Fleetwood!
Vintage Bar, White Plains: On Saturday, March 10,2012, Vintage will be featuring music from Jameson’s Revenge, followed up by Shilelagh Law!
RORY DOLAN’S: Yonkers: Where do we begin? On March 4, celebrate the Yonkers St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebration at Rory’s. Open 11am to 4am, RD’s will be serving up traditional Irish fare, and there will be Irish Music all day, featuring Shilelagh Law. On Saturday, March 10, convene at Rory’s for the McClean Avenue Merchant’s Association St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance. $50 per person, and RSVP to Bridgette Puma at (914) 648-8864. On March 17, Rory’s is open from 9am to 4am, and will be serving Irish breakfast, brunch and Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and Sherry Trifle…just to name a few of the Irish delicacies available!
The Brazen Fox: White Plains. From 8am to 12pm, the BF will be serving a traditional Irish Breakfast, complete with your choice of Irish Coffee, Guiness, a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary! All for only $14 – a great way to start St. Pat’s Day!
J. C. Fogarty’s: Bronxville. Come join in the fun at JC Fogarty’s for the day O’ Green! This well established fine restaurant and pub will feature a special menu on St. Patrick’s Day. But don’t think the chef at Fogarty’s is stopping with corned beef and cabbage. The special menu is extensive, and features appetizers such as shrimp cocktail and leek/potato soup. The entree list is impressive…Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Lamb Stew, Broiled Salmon in Dill, Surf and Turf, and several others will sit alongside the traditional corned beef and cabbage. But…be sure to save room for dessert! There is nothing like Rich Sherry Trifle with Irish Cream to put a smile on your face! And…don’t forget to have a pint with your meal, and Irish Coffee to end it all off!

Mount Kisco: The A.O.H. Division 16, and Ladies A.O.H. Division 16are proud to announce the 22nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be on Saturday March 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. on Main St. in Mount Kisco, N.Y. The celebration is Mount Kisco’s traditional St. Patrick’s Day Parade. A solemn mass was held prior to the parade at 11:30 a.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco, NY. The parade starts on Main St. and Moore Avenue and ends at South Moger Ave. and Green St.in Mount Kisco, NY. The parade Grand Marshal is George Griffin, a Trustee with the Village of Mount Kisco.George owns L.B. Richards in Mount Kisco and is Past Commander of Moses Taylor Jr. Post 136, American Legion. At 1 p.m. at the Reviewing Stand renowned storyteller Jonathan Kruk will share Irish tales for young and old.
Yonkers: The Fifty-Seventh Annual Yonkers’ St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012. It is the Parade Committee’s pleasure to announce that Peter Kelly, the 2012 Grand Marshal, will lead the parade up South Broadway on the 4th. Joining him will be his 8 Aides: Joan Freehan, Maura Hill Friend , John Ryan, Michael Lang, Deanne May, Lawrence McElroen, Dennis Hanrahan, Patricia O’Connell Saich.
Sound Shore – Inaugural Parade – This FIRST annual parade, which will begin on Nostrand Avenue near Mamaroneck Avenue at noon and end at Harbor Island, will feature musicians, dancers, schools, police, firefighters, pipes and drum corps. Before the parade, there will be a mass at St. Vito’s Church at 9:30 a.m and the parade festivities start at 1pm, with the presentation of the Grand Marshall sash by Molly Spillane’s owner, Michael Hynes, to Jim Killoran, the executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Westchester.
Sleepy Hollow – Sleepy Hollow 16th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 11, 2012. Parade begins at 1:30 p.m. at Main Street in Tarrytown and proceeds north on Route 9 to Beekman Avenue in Sleepy Hollow. Grand marshal is James Kovacs of Briarcliff Manor. Mass at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Transfiguration, 268 S. Broadway, Tarrytown.
Peekskill – The parade begins at 3 p.m on March 10, 2012. It heads along South Division Street, First Street, past Assumption Church, Union Avenue, Central Avenue, North Division Street, and eventually to Brown Street.
Eastchester, NY – St Patrick’s Day Parade, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 3:00 pm, Eastchester Irish American Social Club is proud to sponsor Eastchester’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Step off is at 3:00 p.m. from Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, marching up Main Street to Lake Isle Country Club.
White Plains, NY – Saturday, March 10, 2012 marks the 14th annual White Plains St. Patrick’s Parade. Sister Susan Merritt will be the Grand Marshal. Parade Day will begin with 9 am Mass at Our lady of Sorrows Church, 920 Mamaroneck Avenue. The parade will begin promptly at 12 noon on Mamaroneck Avenue and proceed to Main Street. This year’s parade will be dedicated to the 125 Anniversary of the sisters from the Religious of Divine Compassion.
The McLean Avenue Merchants’ Association Parade – McLean Ave, Yonkers – McLean Avenue’s 1st St. Patrick’s Day Parade-Saturday, March 24th, 2012 1pm. There will be a mass at St. Barnabas Church H.S. Chapel at 9am to kick off the festivities. This event’s purpose is to have a family & community based parade on the famed “Emerald Mile”; the home place in Yonkers of Irish culture, music, dance & the many families who have come here from Ireland & have found a welcoming home in Yonkers. So, come out and keep the Irish going while you support the wonder of local and small business!

Join BREDA LEAHY, the owner of Brigit, Etheral Objects, located at 323 Mamaroneck Avenue, in Mamaroneck, for her St. Patrick’s Day Party! This lovely shop has apparel and accessories from Ireland and all over the world for the goddess in all of us! Breda will be putting on an affair complete with Irish food and music too! The party runs from 11am to 4pm, on March 17, 2012.

On Saturday, March 10, 2012, you can listen to the beautiful strains of the BID Family Concert: Celtic Harp Music for St. Patrick’s Day. The concert is free, and starts at 2pm, at the New Rochelle Public Library. For more info, visit www.nrpl.org.
An EVENING OF IRISH CULTURE: Friday, March 9, 2012. A night of Irish tradition at Saunders High School in Yonkers. Featuring the musical group the McLean Avenue Band and dancing by the Emerald Fire Dancers. This is a free event, and starts at 7pm.
On March 17, Lola’s Tea House and Chocolations will be hosting an afternoon IRISH AFTERNOON TEA, at the Chocolations location on Boston Post Road, in Mamaroneck. The menu will consist of Irish Soda Bread scones, bite-sized desserts, fruit salad, finger sandwiches and a 2-cup pot of tea. It will be held between 3 and 5pm, and reservations are required.
