On Saturday, July 9, 2011, the rock radio station, 107.1 The Peak, the Village of Pleasantville, and Westchester Medical Center present the 7th Annual Pleasantville Music Festival. This is one of the greatest music festivals around, because it combines the small-town and friendly feel of the Village of Pleasantville with premium, world-class musicians and bands.
The day’s events are extensive and in addition to music, you will find over 50 local and regional vendors with crafts and wares and information of all sorts. If you are over 21, sample beer from Captain Lawrence and wine from Prospero Winery in the Garden. And just because the music is rock-based, don’t think you cannot bring the kiddos. There is a kid-friendly fun area with games, amusements and crafts just for the little folk, and even musical performances that will keep them happy and occupied.
Artists who have performed in prior years include such favorites as Rusted Root, The Bacon Brothers, Joan Osborne and Jakob Dylan. The list of this year’s performers is as follows:

Sonny Landreth: This slide guitar virtuoso has performed with Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton, and takes the stage at 6:00pm

Parking is not available at the site of the Festival, however there will be free shuttle busing to the site from the Pace University Campus. Tickets are available online here, or you can purchase them in person at the Village Bookstore and the Cold Stone Creamery on Washington Avenue, or at the Art of Wine on Cooley Street. Tickets will also be available the day of the Festival at the Hopper Street entrance. So, take a trip into Pleasantville this weekend, for a “Walk in Memphis”, and music, food, beer, wine and TONS of fun!
