With all the warm weather we have been experiencing lately, its hard for us to ask if winter has you down. And…when you check out the WH calendar of events, its even harder! With so many things to do, who has time to be down? Got kids home from school next week? We’ve got you covered. So, start off with some fun this weekend, and carry it on through to the next!
You can start your weekend with a free beer tasting! The Beer Necessities in New Rochelle is offering a tasting of Breckenridge Brewery at their location in the Quaker Ridge Shopping Center on Quaker Ridge Road on Friday, February 18, 2012. The tasting begins at 7pm. On Saturday, the 19th, head over to the Valhalla campus of Westchester Community College for a fabulous musical experience. At 8pm, Musical Derangement will be performing a mix of Celtic dance, rock music, and Broadway and folk sounds. Also in town this weekend is the Royal Hanneford Circus! You can catch the circus with the family at the County Center in White Plains.
Need some things to do with the kids next week? Why not bring back your inner 80’s child, and catch a flick with your tween and teens. Show them how we did things “back in the day” at the Winter Break Movie showing of “The Breakfast Club” at the Pelham Picture House on Wolfs Lane in Pelham. Got little ones? The Jacob Burns Film Center is having a week long showing of “Time Bandits”.
If you are pining away for spring to get here already, then bring a little spring into your life by hopping the Westchester/Bronx border and heading down the Bronx River Parkway to the New York Botanical Garden. They are still showcasing an exhibit entitled “Caribbean Garden” with exotic plants and flowers in all sorts of bright colors…to brighten your winter mood.
