The White Plains branch of the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester is pleased to offer new Aqua Cycling exercise classes to its fall schedule. This program is offered for age 16 and older to both members and program members. We are one of the first facilities in the region to offer Aqua Cycling and the only non-profit organization to offer it.
Aqua Cycling will start October 27th and continue through December 21st. Classes will meet once a week for eight weeks. Participants will select a day and time choosing an AM or PM class Monday throughFriday, and Saturday morning. Please contact our Aquatics Director for exact dates and times. Classes are taught by various Master level Water Fitness Instructors and Spinning® instructors and will be held in our large pool. Each instructor will bring his/her own unique style, flair and creativity to the class each week.
Maximum number of participants per class starting will be 4 per class. Those interested should register at the front desk starting Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 7:00 AM.
“We are excited to be bringing more exercise programs to our aquatics department. The Aqua Cycling has many benefits that include burning more calories per hour. This program is great for those with arthritis, back pain, joint problems, MS, soft-tissue injuries, and many other medical conditions. All participants with medical conditions are encouraged to get medically cleared by their physician first. If the pilot is successful, we’ll add more for the winter session.” said Eric Hammermeister, White Plains YMCA Aquatics Director.
The YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester also operates a community branch in Somers, NY and Camp Combe in Putnam Valley, NY. We foster youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
