The 18th Annual Support-A-Walk for breast and ovarian cancer, presented by Support Connection, Inc., will take place on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights, NY. It is a 3-mile walkathon held each year to bring attention to the needs of people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
Each year, thousands of people from across the Hudson Valley come together for this uplifting event. Many participants walk in celebration of or in tribute to those affected by these diseases. There will be face-painting, music, and characters for the kids to meet. Families with children of all ages walk together as a way to contribute to their community. Students of all ages participate as volunteers.
Proceeds from the Support-A-Walk help fund Support Connection’s free support services for anyone affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
