LARCHMONT, NY – On Saturday, September 26 at 12:00 noon, The Larchmont Public Library will dedicate a new outdoor garden space designated as “RYDER’S CHILDREN’S GARDEN”, created in memory of Ryder Gordon Brown who passed away at the age of 3 years on January 18, 2015, following a brief illness. The garden will serve as a place for families to enjoy, explore and learn with their children and also as a space for outdoor children’s programs.   Ryder’s Children’s Garden is being designed by Catherine Wachs of The Lazy Gardener of Larchmont, and will feature numerous shrubs and plants.  The garden has been made possible through generous contributions from friends, family, neighbors and community members made in Ryder’s memory to the library. The Brown family will continue to support the garden with funds from a foundation they are creating in Ryder’s memory. Should anyone like to make a donation to Ryder’s Children’s Garden, they may do so by making their check payable to the Larchmont Public Library and indicating on the memo line “Ryder’s Children’s Garden.” Donations should be sent to the Larchmont Public Library, 121 Larchmont Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538.

Following the dedication ceremony on September 26, Ryder’s Children’s Garden will be available for everyone in the community to come and enjoy for years to come.
