Choosing a college is the opportunity of a lifetime—when else do you get to choose a community of your peers to spend four years with? Don’t wait until the end of 11th grade (or the beginning of 12th!) to start thinking about which colleges are right for you!

This workshop will provide a way to explore the many aspects of college selection. Participants will leave the class empowered with a better understanding of the college experience and their own expectations and inclinations, as well as a starter list of colleges that fit their personalities and goals.

Facilitated by Executive Director, Sarah Silbert-Hinawi, she has a Masters in Educational Counseling, helped design The College Board’s nationally implemented CollegeEd program, and has worked in the field of education and student success for more than ten years. Sarah will lead the group in unique activities and discussions that get at the heart of what college selection should be about. Teens will enjoy a chance to get to know each other and themselves and think about the fun of college apart from the high-stakes, high-pressure topics of test scores and admissions.
