Gain and Lose at the Same time? That’s PHAT, Baby!

Can a person gain and lose at the same time?  The short answer is YES!  You can gain muscle and lose fat.  I recently heard someone say “you can get fit by doing 5 jumping jacks a day”. Hmm, maybe in my dreams! To gain muscle you must use your muscles. To lose weight you must use up your stored energy. But, is that it? Does how you eat make a difference? Absolutely.  For some, that can be the hardest part. There are many programs to get fit and lose weight. Some tell you how to exercise and recommend how to eat.  Others tell you how to eat and recommend how to exercise. How do you know which exercise is working and which food is best to eat?  Am I doing the exercise correctly and what do I cook?  How do actors, models and athletes do it?  Have you seen the cast in John Carter, the Disney movie? WOW!

Well, those Hollywood actors have a team that gets them to look like gods. Why can’t the average person have a team and get the same results? Maybe in my other dream…or is it? Why Phatburn Works

 

Training -Clients meet with a trainer 5x a week for 1 hour. Shawn Smith, IFPA Certified Fitness Trainer, designed the classes that pushes you to your max. When you push through your threshold is when you see results. The sessions change to increase your strength, increase  endurance and you don’t get bored.  Fit test are performed on days 1, 30 and 60 to track your progress and see if training needs to be tweaked.

Meal Plan – You get your own personal chef named Tim Horan, who graduated from the French Culinary Institute. You get 5 meals a day, 7 days a week. It is all proportioned personally for you. Makes sense. Little me, 5’2” 120lbs can’t eat the same as “Popeye” working out next to me. We need different amounts of calories.  The best part is, it’s cooked fresh everyday! How do you get your food? After your workout you pick up your cooler bag with your name on it. The cooler bag has your breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. The next day you bring your empty bag and pick up a new one full of yummy, fresh food. On Friday you get two bags because you don’t see your team until Monday. An example of a day’s food is breakfast: cinnamon-vanilla French toast with cottage cheese and fruit. Snack 1: apple with almond Butter, Lunch: Mixed veggies couscous with roast pork and cucumbers, Snack 2: Waldorf chicken salad, Dinner: rosemary chicken with roasted sweet potatoes, Post workout: Protein Shake. On the weekend you get a cheat meal. Substitutions are made for allergies.  “No room to mess up”, says Wintergerst.

Nutritionist – You meet Dr. Bruce Bloom on the first day. He performs body composition readings. A body composition breaks down your actual weight into its components. How much of your body is fat, muscle, water, skeleton etc. A reading is taken every two weeks.  Dr. Bloom analyses the results and if changes need to be made they are made.  PhatBurn wants to make sure changes are happening. If need, your food can also be tweaked.
