For most kids, high speed racing is something they only experience through a video game, but some Westchester County youths got the ride of their lives this summer. One of those kids is Scarsdale’s Aidan Griffith, this month’s Happening Kid in Westchester, who recently completed the Junior Racing Summer Camp at Grand Prix New York/Spins Bowl located in Mount Kisco, NY.
So what is Junior Racing Camp?
The Junior Racing Summer Camp program teaches junior drivers the basics of driving and racing. During the week long racing program, campers work their way through a course curriculum which includes learning how to identify and follow racing lines, kart control, passing, and defending. Grand Prix New York Racing (GPNY) has a 118,000-square-foot indoor racing, social entertainment, and corporate event venue in the New York City-metro area.
Due to his successful completion of the camp, Aidan is now qualified to drive in Grand Prix’s Junior Racing League and other competitive junior racing events to put his skills to the test.
