Westchester Center for Natural Health’s new naturopathic physician, Abigail Egginton, has taken over ownership of the center, which first opened in 2010. After completing a residency in Oncology, Dr. Egginton has moved back to Westchester, where she grew up, and is excited about working with families in the area. After graduating from Horace Greeley High School, Dr. Egginton attended Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA where she completed her pre-medical studies. After taking a few years off of school to teach high school science, she then attended Bastyr University, the top school for naturopathic medicine, in Seattle, WA. She was then selected for one of the only hospital based naturopathic residencies at Indiana University Goshen Center for Cancer Care where she focused on Oncology.
In addition to Oncology, Dr. Egginton has specialties in working in Women’s Health, Pediatrics and LGBTQ health but is able to work with patients of all ages dealing with a range of health concerns. Naturopaths are especially helpful in helping with digestive concerns, hormonal imbalances, decreasing anxiety and stress, and preventative approaches to chronic conditions.
“I’m excited to bring this holistic and effective form of healthcare to Westchester,” said Dr. Egginton. “Seeing a naturopathic physician is a great addition to conventional care to better understand your health and the cause of any health concerns you may be dealing with,” she explained. “Naturopaths help to educate patients and I think that knowledge is empowering!”
