TOP 5 FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2012 !
This spring gives way to a very bright future. When I look at the trends, all I can think of is happiness! It makes me believe that even though I may not be on vacation, I surely will feel like I’m on some tropical island somewhere. It’s all about COLOR this spring – bright, lovely, happy color. Its about every shade of the rainbow, and many will be worn this spring. Here are my top 5 picks for Spring 2012:
TANGERINE!! Just by looking at the runway reports from the Spring/Summer collections, you already know there was one color everyone incorporated into their lines and that one color was TANGERINE. According to the Pantone fashion color report, tangerine is the biggest trend for spring. This trend will transcend into fall as well… SO STOCK UP!
Neon – This is one of my favorite trends! I can’t wait to use this with another favorite trend, which is COLOR BLOCKING! When trying to do this trend however, I would keep it at a 3 color minimum. Any more than that has the probability of making you look like a clown. If color blocking is too much to handle, try to add neon in an accessory like a handbag, earrings, or a bracelet with a neutral colored outfit to give it a POP.
Pastels – This trend is also like Neon, because you can color block with it or add an accessory to give your outfit a pleasant spring update. It isn’t as bright as neon – so if you are afraid to jump right into the whole color thing, start with a lovely pastel and then work your way up!
Crop Tops– although this popular trend of the 90s has been around for a season or two, it will hit full swing in the coming months.
Graphic Florals, Polka dots & Prints – During the fall and winter months, printed pants started to emerge and will transfer over to Spring/Summer. Every time I look at a floral printed pant it brings me back to my childhood, and who doesn’t want to remember that great time in life? Polka dots will always be my favorite print of all time. I will be wearing this trend in just about everything. It is so 1940s, one of my favorite eras in fashion ever.
Speaking of 1940s, the Peplum is also another trend that just keeps on getting bigger. We have seen peplum many times before, but this Spring it’s not just in dresses but its also in tops and jackets. Mixing a peplum top with a pair of jeans is not only a super cool way to play with the trend but also very easy. It gives a chic look to your everyday jeans.
Use all these pieces of fashion trend advice, and you will be well on your way to Spring Fashionista status!
