Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, Carnevale…these are all signals of a mid-winter festival. Traditionally, all these things spark the arrival of the Christian season of Lent, a season of restraint and sacrifice. In contrast, the winter festivities surrounding Mardi Gras and the Italian Carnevale are about abundance, frivolity and food!
You don’t have to trek all the way down to New Orleans for some mid-winter fun. Instead, let the folks at the Villa Barone Hilltop Manor meet all your desires! They are the professionals when it comes to the festival of CARNEVALE! The Villa Barone started at its first location in the Bronx decades ago. With their most recent and beautiful location just over the Westchester border in Mahopac, they know how Carnevale should be done.
In fact, due to such an overwhelming response to last year’s two Carnevale events, they have added a third event this year. According to Jacquline, who is instrumental in planning and executing these events for the Hilltop Manor, “eventhough the economy is bad, people love our Carnevale, so we could not disappoint them, and therefore added one more to our calendar this year!”
If you have ever been to a Carnevale celebration before, you know it is includes not only a great deal of wonderful foods, but entertainment galore! Magical decorations, servers in costume, entertainers on stilts, and the famous Carozza Brothers with the best Italian and traditional music for fun and dancing!
There are still seats available for the March 3 and March 17, 2012 Carnevale seatings at the Hilltop Manor. You can visit the website here for more information, or to reserve tickets, give Jacquline a call at (845) 628-6600. And when you call, inquire about their upcoming Disco Night on March 30, 2012!
