For White Plains wife and mother, Jene Luciani, its not what’s on the outside that is important, but what’s on the inside. She adheres to this philosophy both literally and figuratively. Jene is the author of THE BRA BOOK: THE FASHION FORMULA TO FINDING THE PERFECT BRA, published in 2009. It may sound inconsequential to some, but ask many women about the importance of a good bra, and the frustration in the quest to find one, and they will tell you what a necessary read Jene’s book really is.
We downloaded a copy of Luciani’s work on the Kindle. In addition to being incredibly informative (a lexicon of virtually every “bra” term you can think of, and a whole chapter on finding the right fit), Luciani tells her own story…and gives an inside view into how her own struggles with personal appearance and physical formation shaped her life, and fueled her quest to help other women feel good about themselves. We won’t give away every detail, because we think you should read Luciani’s book too!
Jene grew up in upstate New York and attended SUNY Cortlandt. She started her career in Albany, as a broadcast journalist. She covered everything from war to fashion, but after 7 years in the industry, she parlayed into fashion permanently and never looked back. Fast forward a few years, and Jene is now one of the most sought-after and quoted style experts in both print and visual media. She is currently the Fashion Correspondent and Contributor for NBC’s Today Show, and for Shape Magazine. She has been quoted in Cosmo, Glamour, STAR, Bride’s Magazine, InTouch Weekly, Woman’s Day Magazine, Weight Watchers Magazine and the Chicago Tribune, to name just a few.
Jene’s latest projects include the series called the Working Wives of Westchester, currently being filmed, and on November 29, 2011 at 10pm, Jene will be on Bravo’s MAD FASHION, with Project Runway alumnus, Chris March. Part of that show was filmed right in Scarsdale, and March designed a gown for Luciani for her book launch event which was made up of 200 bras!!
Grab a copy of Jene’s book at either Amazon.com, or Barnes and Noble. You can find more information, including some great video clips, right on her website, www.jeneluciani.com. We hope she will continue to keep us posted on her progress, and look forward to more advice from her in the future!
